Similar to terminal ear1 in Zea mays. A member of mei2-like gene family; phylogenetic analysis revealed that TEL1 belongs to the third clade of mei2-like proteins (TEL clade), with conserved two N-terminal RNA recognition motifs (RRM), in addition to the C-terminal RRM, shared among all mei2-like proteins.
