Encodes one of two Arabidopsis proteins with similarity to the TBP-associated factor TAF12. The gene product is an EIN3-interacting TFIID transcription factor required for proper ethylene response, including ERF1 induction. Loss of function mutants show enhanced response to ethylene. Located in nucleus and expressed throughout the plant. Required for ERF1 expression.
