Transcriptional silent in leaf tissues of ecotype Col. The transcribed allele in ecotype Ler encodes a 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase which is involved in glucosinolate biosynthesis. The natural variation in this locus explains the diversification of hydroxyalkyl glucosinolates among different ecotypes of Arabidopsis.
